For
years, Betta Splendens were known as fighting fishes, which gains
popularity through its toughness and aggressiveness. However,
in the late 19th centuries, there are emergence of new type of finnage
such as Crowntail, Halfmoon plakat,Halfmoon and Double tail. They are
considered as modern betta splendens.Since
the appearances of modern show bettas, a
lot of betta clubs had since being built by hobbyst all around the
world, such
as Indonesia Betta Splendens Club, Betta Club of Singapore, Betta
Australis,
International Betta Congress (IBC), etc.
These
clubs are developed from the
base of their admiration towards the beauty of the bettas and most of
them are
totally against bettas fighting. A lot of beauty contests for bettas
have since
being arranged and attracted lots of participants and newbie into this
hobby.
However, Problems persist as no fix standards are being used in the
competitions and often resulted in the disagreement between judges and
disappointment of the participants. This is where IBC (International
Betta
Congress) play an important role as a hub for the clubs around the
world.

widely used.
The specific standards laid down by IBC have leaded the exhibitor to breed and raise their fishes so that they are as close as possible to the ideal standard. The reasons why the trimming process are included: a)with knowing the trimming technique that they are applying on the fishes, we will have better awareness and knowledge on what part they usually trimmed the finnage at, and we can find more ways to identify it. b) There are some fin rots that are very stubborn. They can chewed up all the finnage of the betta, and the betta will be unable to swim and die. With the simple trimming process, we can remove it. 7) All the fishes you make comparison with come from the same fish? Ans: No cheating here.Comparisons all made from the same fishes. Refund will be granted if you find out I am doing comparison with different fishes. 8) This is cruel to these little fishes. Ans: I understand that there will be concern about the condition of the fishes after the trimming procedure. However, I can ensure you that none of them were harm.
